ok,heres the deal, i am replacing my water pump on a 1996 geo metro 1.0L 5-spd, i have gotten the air intake out of the way, loosened the bolt on the alternator, as well as on the pulley for the water pump, have the belt off. But my problem is that before i go and use the pulley puller to get the pulley off, will i have to use a pulley press to get it back on?or can i simply tap it on with a rubber mallet far enough to get the bolts started, then just tighten them up?
any help nm this subject would be greatly appreciated.
thanks alot for teh advice!

water pump pulley is held on by 4 bolts, and it'll fall off. That's it. No puller is necessary. Gotta take the timing belt off to get the pump out too.

The pump is behind the belt so it has got to come off. :uhoh:

This would also be a good time to replace the timing belt.

line up the crank to the timing mark on the block. Then line up the dot in the cam gear to the notch in the timing cover
