has anybody installed any performance parts on their 2.2 that actually made a difference. I dont want to spend $1000 on stuff and not get any gains.

Oh, you'll get gains. My friend has a cavi with an ecotec. He put a cold air intake in and said he already can feel a difference. Hes planning much more too, only had it a month.

Hey I have a 2002 chevy cavalier 2.2L ECOTEC. I've done a couple of things to my car so far. I installed an OBX Header and I have a full custom welded exhaust system. I still have my original Catalytic Converter. Plus I added a Cold Air Intake. It can definetley feel the difference. It also sounds GREAT!

you'll pick up SOME power, but dont lie to yourself...you're not going to see large gains from simple bolt on parts. With a complete exhaust, good header and cold air intake, you'll be lucky to pick up 10-15whp w/o any kind of tuning....if anyone else says differently, they dont know what they're talking about....

its the same story w/ NA Honda engines...without tearing into the internals, most people wont break the 200whp range on an engine that makes 160whp stock....that's w/ headwork, cams, I/H/E and all the other goodies. If you want cheap power, you have to look either at nitrous or forced induction of some kind...keep in mind that "cheap" is a relative term.
