Dual Exhaust?

I have a 98 GMC Sierra (1500). Under the hood is a V6 4.3 motor. I am wanting to put Dual Exhaust on, but I had someone tell me last night that with a V6 I shouldn't use Duals. I am wondering, will it sound good if I do put duals on it, or what should I get?

Also, if it will sound good with duals, what would be the better pipes to get, Flowmaster or Glasspacks?

Nothing sounds as good as a V8 with duals but yes it still should make your V6 sound pretty cool. As for what to get for a muffler it all depends what you want your truck to sound like. Glasspacks make your truck very loud and have rapping sound to them. Flowmaster is still loud but has more of a purr to it.

If you want to save a little money and still go with a dual look go with a Y-Pipe. Then you only need one muffler. Exhaust goes in the one muffler and comes out in two pipes. I would only reccomend this if you are going with the flowmaster though. If you decide to go with the glasspacks go with some real duals.

Hope this helped..

do not dual out a 4.3 i had one and did this and it sounded like one of those jap craps goin down the road with the big mufflers. and it doesnt matter what type of muffler u use. id suggest gettin a 1 in 2 out muffler sounds not bad a low rumble and still havethe dual look from the rear

my friend has the same truck and has glasspack on it, 2 1/2in back to 3" tips w/ no cat and sounds great, my old truck was a year older and had straight pipes on it, no cat also and both sound great
