83 trans swap

is there a way i can mount a 700r4 to my 83 350 1/2ton, if so what mods do i need to do? i am looking for a 4th gear and maybe a little better gas mileage. i know that i need to change the 4.11's in the rear, any ideas on what would be a suitable replacement for that also?

Where there is a will their is a way! you can swap a 700r4 in, you'll need to purchase adapters and depending on what you are running now you may need to swap input and or output shafts so you can put it all back together also your going to need a transfer case adapter. Tranny swaps can be a pain in the @$$ but if you do a little research it won't be as painful! usually if you just run a online search for the tranny you have to the tranny you want plus transfer case info you'll get alot of hits on swaps that you can apply to your setup just be patience and be prepared to fork out some cash and a whole mess of wrench time.
