What kind of shocks do you have? They might be worn.

New shocks will not help because shocks do not hold the car up. The springs do. You could install new shocks or have no shocks at all and the car would sit at the same height. If your car sits too low you need new springs.
Full length header scraping is somewhat common. Look under any car with them and you'll see. If it scraps easily and often then you need to change your springs or the headers.
If your car keeps bouncing after a bump, and then scraps, get new shocks.

Springs might be overkill. Buy stock replacements from MOOG or TRW check Autozone or Pep Boys.

I'm glad to see we agree.

Jesse the easiest way to fix this and the cheapest is go to your local salvage yard and get a set of springs out of a chevelle wagon with air or any chevelle with air I say wagon cause they are more plentyful than the chevelle 2 door, this will pick your front end up and not be to rigid at the same time.

Yes with air,,a chevelle that has factory air conditioning,,see the A.C. cars they put heavier springs in the front because the components for the A.C. system make the front end heavier. So A chevelle with factory A.C. sorry for the confusion.

Yes I mean stock coil springs. If you want more lift try station wagon, El Camino, big block springs.

Changing tires will not solve mechanical problems only ruin a new set of tires. Please spend your money where it will help the most. Go to a full service tire place and get someone to look at your car.

From my experience with headers on street cars, they're not worth the hassle. You can get a set of stock appearing cast iron performance manifolds from Brezninski Performance.
Aftermarket headers are noisy, cast iron manifolds are a great combustion noise deadener, they also take heat away from the cylinder heads.
I've never been happy with headers at all. They scrape, get caught on things, loosen up and eventually rot out or develop exhaust leaks.
