Well this is a project that I have started for an upcoming contest that I was gonna keep a secret and not post anything until it was finished. Well god knows I can't keep a secret so the cat is now out of the bag, as I am posting a couple pics of it. This is going to be a fully detailed build. The colors on the body are HOK Tangelo pearl and Kandy purple. engine block is also Tangelo pearl and the bell housing and tranny are painted with several colors of metalizers. anyway enough of the boring stuff here are a couple pics. I will post more updates as they come. and no I havn't done any wet sanding, clearing, or polishing yet.......................*Ryan*

well obviously i'm not gettin very much interest on this one over here. but I thought i'd update it anyway. The scratchbuilt mallory ignition box is on the firewall. Now I am working on scratchbuilding the new scratchbuilt coil to be mounted on the firewall. The wireing frenzy has started. So far the only wires that I have ran so far are the positive and negative leads from the battery to the new ignition box. as soon as the coil is done then I can run the wires from the ignition box to the stock coil, and from the ignition box to the new coil, then from the new coil to the distributer. anyway enough boredom here are a couple new pics........................*Ryan

Thanks horrse. The HOK paint is really really good stuff. You should deffinately try ityou won't be dissappointed! Yes I will be using the HOK clear but nothing has been cleared yet Still got some more to do before I clear it, just waiting a week for the paint to fully cure so that I can do some wet sanding and then clear it. Thanks for the interest...................*Ryan*

well obviously i'm not gettin very much interest on this one over here.

Don't take it personally. I bet if you posted that Civic model this one was sitting on top of, it would get more attn.

Are you planning on running heater hoses? You might wanna drill the holes in the heater box before the ignition stuff gets in the way. I look forward to more updates. I tried to do a superdetailed engine on a previous model, but I got bored and ran outta ideas. I'll be watching yours for ideas on the 67 Chevelle I'll be building for my dad.

Thanks a lot guys, it's nice to see somethin other than an import getting at least a little bit of attention around here. anyway to answer a few questions, yes they do sell HOK paints at walmart, just not at every walmart, my walmart happened to get a shipment of them in so I jumped on em. And civicchick, yes I am running heater goses and the holes have actually already been drilled out of the heater box. you probly just can't see that in the pics. anyway more updates later today..........................*Ryan*

I guess what counts as an "import" is a function of where you are and where the car came from... :icon16:

This is a really nice build! The colours look great and your detailing looks to be off to a great start.

Could we looking at a future winner here? Hope so! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you and look forward to following this thread. :bigthumb: who knows, maybe I'll be able to "import" some of your ideas into a build of my own :) j/k

lol haha thanks klutz. Ya you are right about the "imports" from my perspective I mean japanese cars( honda, acura, nissan, mazda, etc.) And it's not that I have anything at all against those cars, I love building tuner and import models, But i also love build a lot of other things too, and it just seems like not much other then imports get much attention around here. but anyway Just some more wiring going on on this one. and I sure hope that this is a future show winner, but that doesn't really matter I build for the enjoyment anyway.......................*Ryan*

Ok guys here are some updated pics for ya. My full concentration is on this one now that my 65 is done. Today I got the rolling chassis ALMOST complete. It still needs some more work. Then I can start on the fuel lines and brake lines, then get the interior done, then drop the body on the chassis and finish up all the electrical wireing. Then just final assembly. Anyway here are the pics as she sits, also 1 pic of the completed hood with clear and a polish job................................*Ryan*

hey thats a nice paint job the only thing i object to is the rims. i think the actual rim is nice but imo they should be chrome but thats just my opinion.
