radio console removal

Can someone tell me how to remove the climate control cable so i can remove my stock radio and reolace it with something better. I'm nervous about breaking it .

I have not personally had my ESCORT apart around the climate control panel, but I have had many others to complete pieces including an olds alero I recently had to completely break down and detail (it was disgusting) and build back together. Every wiring harness I've ever seen has a clip that fits the two pieces together. If you're careful with the use of a flathead screwdriver, you should be able to get the two pieces apart without breaking anything. Just be easy, and if you see the plastic crease and turn white like it's about to break, observe the situation better. hope this helps.

I just recently installed a new cd player in my sister's car and was nervous about removing the climate control cable also!
