What a jerk of an answer.^

Check the little ball valve (PCV Valve) in the top of one of the rocker covers. If it's plugged, the blow by is escaping thru your dipstick tube.
YOU need a vaccum on the engine crankcase to pull the blowby out and that little rubber hose to the back of the carburator or intake manifold is it. Replace or clean out the hose and valve.
Also check and make sure the breather on the opposite cover is clean and open if there is one there.

Wow, another jerk "intelligent reply". Do you think those up all by yourself or do you get help?

First, make sure that the oil is not grossly over full. Then go with the PCV valve as someone else suggested. Then follow the line up to the manifold base to make sure it's not roasted, kinked or the base plate is gunked up. The next step is to pull the valve cover on the PCV side to see if the engine is sludged up. Which can open another bag of snakes for you. De-sludging an older motor can lead to major gasket leaks or the oil pump sucking up loosened sludge which often is full of grit and other undesirable contaminents.

Good luck, Bob
