I think 17's are too big for a civic. And if it isn't lowered, you might get a lot of off roading jokes yes. :)

But if you like them, then thats all that matters.

would 16s be better? i need all the input before i buy them. cause it mite be a bit before i can afford suspension, and i dont want to look like an off road civic

I have 15's that weigh 13lbs each, i love them.

Get 16's of the second wheel. IMO it looks better. Plus you'll have better traction with the bigger sidewall, and it will be lighter.

I have KYB AGX's with Sportline springs, and all that set me back about 600 bucks. You can get a good coil-over set for that much, but I just didn't want to fool with them.

I also think you should go 15's, but go with some Slipstreams or some C 8's or something. I think those wheels look like those Motige(sp) MR7's or whatever they were. Pep-boys special is what I always called'um.

so u dont like the rims i priced out, there isnt much that fits into my price range and theres like 2 wheel shops in my city, so not much selection.
so u guys think i should go for 15s?
how bad will it look with 17's if its not lowerd, cause if i can get a decent suspention set up for 500-600 is it worth it?

Get your wheels online dude. This is a good website for you. (http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?&autoMake=Honda&autoModel=Civic+Hatchback&autoYear=1988&autoModClar=) It shows you what the wheels are gonna like on the car. 500 for a nice suspension is a good deal, but you also need a camber kit, alignment, and most likely new lugs to fit onto the rims. Do it right, not the cheep-o-way. Don't cut your springs, or buy some E-Bay bullshit. Get quality stuff, and it will show. Do what looks clean, not what everyone "thinks" is cool.

It is your car, and i'm not telling you what to do with it, but I would like to see another clean ED on the road instead of another riced out altezza tailight, crome wheels on cut springs, and 5% window tent car driving on the road.

whoever the guy is saying that tinting your windows is riced out must live in a really cold place it keeps the heat out and do u really want ppl seein good shit in your car or do u not have any good shit in your car. where i live tinting your windows keeps stuff from melting and ppl from stealing anything of value, EDs are like green houses. u can have tinted windows and not be "riced out" big body kits, altezzas, apc stickers and fart cans are riced out

I think black tint is cool. Mine is the lightest they had and it still looks really dark. Now if you wanna talk rice- how about that half color tint crap. Ugh EVERYONE here in MT has that now. It's spreading like a plague. But still just cause I don't like it doesn't mean alot of people don't..(obviously) so in the end it always comes to personal preference.:2cents:

ok, its agreed, rice sucks, but what size of wheels would be the best and still look for my daily driving 4g?

check out www.edgeracing.com (http://www.edgeracing.com) great prices and fast shipping i got a set of the slipstream look alikes for 650 to my door with tires and new lug nuts. Btw 15's for me are great for daily driving cause michigan roads are terrible, also i think anything over 16" is too big for a 4th gen. GL.

Btw check out the falken hanabi's on this site you might like 'em and they are the lightest rims that edge racing stock.

I personally think 14-15's look best. I had my 17's off my accord on my crx for awhile and I didn't like it.. it doesn't look right to me, and they weighed like 23 pounds each! I like my 14's much better.

I live in Florida, Jacksonville....Not the "coldest place in the wrold", and I have no fear of anything "melting", one of those window screen things work just fine.

Window tent to an extent looks good, but 5% dude. Thats a lot, and I bet it sucks driving at night with it, and if things are getting stolen out of your car, maybe you should take out that 1500$ system. The only thing I think that could be of mucho value is a stero system, in your car atleast.

g-ride-si
08-02-2005, 05:25 PM
hmm you might want to re-read that i dont have 5% i have 20% for one, for two, i have about $800 worth of stereo, for 3 do u know what direct sunlight does to your interior and any kind of amp or capacitor? i dont want my $300 component rear speakers or any other plastic/vinyl to dry rot and crack, plus in the end i think it looks good. why would i take out my "system" i like music i dont have a big heavy sub or anything and the temp here today is 101 with a heat index of 115 and yes things will melt ive had cds melt together in my accord. but neway im done jacking this thread. i just see a purpose for tint.

tint is yummy - i wish they had an aftermarket thing where you can set the temp to 75 and the AC would kick on if it got too hot - same with winter set it and the heat kicks on - i know ferraris have that feature i think it'd be sweet!
