Does anyone else have a problem that first gear grinds real bad when trying to shift into it at anything but damn near a dead stop? My mustang I can shift into first doing like 20 or 30 as long as I hold in the clutch. Which is what I do alot when I'm going to a stop. With my eclipse I can't seem to shift into first except when I'm like almost stopped even when I push the clutch in. If I try to shift it before that it just grinds like crap. Also my gears seem to be a little hard to get into. Is that a sign of my clutch taking a dump on me? It's not a big deal if it is because I intend to replace the clutch with a much better one. Any ideas?

You shouldn't ever really downshift into first. It's not the best treatment for your tranny. Theres a reason it won't let you in an eclipse because its not good for the car. You might be able to in the mustang because the gears are larger I dono??? But I would strongly reccomend not doing that to the eclipse. It has nothing to do with the clutch.
