Speakers in 92 GP

Ok my brother gave me his speakers from his old car..a pair of kenwoods..i wanna stick them in the rear speakers but theres a problem. The stock speakers in my car have some kind of a clip on them that connects to the speaker rather then just wire. Does this clip come off? I didnt want to wreck the wire but just pullin on them. So i decided to come ask here first

the clip does come off, and if your looking to hook up aftermarket speakers you will need a GM adapter to plug into the factory wire and then to your speakers..or if you know a little about electronics just cut the wires and soldier them to your speakers..im not sure what the clip looks like in older models but theres probably a little tab you have to push in while sliding it off
