I'm ready to replace tires and am probably going to stick with the michelins unless someone can convince me otherwise?
As for shocks, am I limited to the monroe shocks at $250/shock!!!?

Bridgestone is a good equal. Cooper or Firestone is probably less costly; and a little harder rubber, so would have longer potential wear life; especially if New Jersey DOT hasn't paved to match autobahn standards.
monroe? I think Chevy/GMC comes OEM with Bilstein
front BE5-6500-H0
rear BE5-6501-H0 for about $60. each
hope this helps,
