How much can I get?

Hey all,

Just curious. If I were to sell my car, how much would YOU pay for it? I'm thinking of possible ending the 420a project I got going here and just throwing in the towel. Im thinking I can sell it to some little 16 year old punk kid. However, I would hate to see how he would not care for it and bring pain to me. LOL.

Anywho, I have the large list of mods at the bottom in my sig. The body is in great shape, just some minor little scratches only seen upclose. Paint also looks good. Small fades here and there. Nothing big. No accidents, clean report. Engine well maintained. Oil changes every 2500-3000 miles.

Engine has 87000 miles. 5 speed. No leaks ecept for a small tranny fluid leak on the top of tranny. Easy weld.

I paid $4000 for the car and have done about $4000 in upgrades/repairs. How much would you pay for it?

(I know you turbo guys would payu almost nothing for it, but I know some little kid will be like 'wow!' and get mommy and daddy to dish out some cash.)

Prob like 4g is what you are looking at. You never get back what you put in. Find some dumb ass kid that will pay 5000-5500

What's this?! The "self proclaimed 420a god" is thinking about selling his car?! jk, saw the "just curious" comment. You should check the kbb value of your car to see what is the value is in your area. I agree with mitsu_eclipse95gst that you'll probably get around the $4k range for it. It's easy to get young kids to buy the car, but make sure you add in the good points of it being reliable, maintained well, and safe to the parents. Usually they are the ones that are spending the money for the purchase when you sell it to a young teenager. If you do sell your car what will you get?

I just did a KBB on it, assuming "good" condition and options from what I could see in your sig, $3025. Thats not taking into account the mods, thats if it was stock... the mods would probably be worth something to someone.

Hey david-d, Since your love your car why dont you just turbo it ? I mean you did put money into it so just get the hahn special 420a turbo manifold and a turbo and with a few mods you will be boosting :) I have found the website where they are doing a specials on manifold and a turbocharger :) http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/Manifold%20and%20turbo%20combos.htm

I found a sucker that bought my old rs for $7800 :grinyes:. You just have to find the kiddy with their parent's credit card.

Mods tend to take away from cars. I would never want to buy a car that wasnt stock or near it.

I want to buy a TSi AWD. Or a GSX, but I would like to stick with the talons. They're more rare. I dont have the money for a turbo. I want a car that's got it already in. Also more reliable then adding a tuirbo to a NT engine. Too many problems can happen.

I still love my engine, but it may be time to part out with it. Not selling yet though. Thanks all

I sold my 91 Talon to a kid who just got his license for $1700. Exactly what I had into it. It's easier to sell to kids or girls they don't try to negotiate the price as much in my experience.
