95-99 recall

I got a letter in the mail yesterday from Daimler-Chrysler stating that there was a recall on 95-99 Cirrus and Stratus. Something about the transaxle floor shifter. They say that if the repair hasn't been done on the car already, they would pay to have it fixed. Problem is, I'm not the original owner, so how would I know if it's been fixed or not? Would a Carfax report show something like that? I don't really want to spend $20 on a Carfax report just to find out if that was fixed. If it hasn't been fixed, can I go to any Dodge dealer to get it repaired? I bought my Stratus from a dinky little used car place.

if you got a letter from daimler crysler, then the recall was just issued, it's probablly not an old recall notice. but check their site, and see when the recall was issued, if the date was after the date your purchased it, then you know it hasn't been fixed
