i have that same exaust on my car, and my CEL isnt on, so i dont think it would be b/c of that, but im not positive.

what did you do with your secondary o2 sensor? If you are gona pop it out you have to put in a o2 simulator. My check engine light always comes on for that reason so I just pulled out the little light

It is definately your secondary o2 sensor.

My CEL was on for a while giving out lots of codes. Fixed the secondary oxy sensor, and all codes went away, CEL has been off for 400 miles now.

I believe the 95-96's don't throw the CEL and the 97-99 do. I have an N1 downpipe and exhaust and no CEL for me. Something to do vs. OBDI vs. OBDII. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

95 and 96 are OBD2, Although it started in 96 i believe the 95 Mitsu's went to OBD2 before everyone had to. So i doubt that has to do with it. Also an oil leak wouldn't throw a code. There could be a thousand reasons why your CEL is on, just have someone check it out.

I dont know what that would be but... on my car i had a Head Gasket leak... so everytime i reset my battery it would go away and then the next day it would come back on....."check engine light" but i fighted that head gasket problem and no more lights for the past month... so that leak might be cuasing it..
