Hi all,
My cousin and I have been working relentlessly on his ride for the past week and we still can't get it running! The car is a 93 Accord LX with the 2.2L engine. At first he was having some cooling issues, so we bought and installed a new readiator and thermostat. We flushed and filled with coolant and whattya know- a plume of white smoke is coming out of the exhaust (either cracked head or blown HG). We take off the head and find that the head is cracked. We then get a head from the core yard and take it in to get a valve job. We slap a new HG in and install the rebuilt head. I timed it, crank it by hand on the crankshaft to make sure the valves arent hitting the pistons, we assemble everything, try to start from the ignition key, and we get a NO START condition. Check for spark- YES, check for fuel- YES, recheck timing- its good. We then do a compression check and we get good numbers from all cylinders except from #1. #1 is getting no compression!!! ARRGHHH!!! We adjust valves and still no compression. We then try to just get the darn thing started with just 3 cylinders, but still NOTHING! IS there anything I'm missing here?! HELP! :disappoin  :disappoin

How can you check the timing if the engine will not start?

thats what im thinking too. im assuming the engine cranks but will not fire. what was the actual compression results? uneven or low cylinder compression will prevent your engine from firing. vac leaks? fuel lines and vac lines are properly in?
