Wheel bearings

I have a 98 contour se i have to replace boath of the front wheel bearings. In the book I have it said that they have to be pressed in but when a friend of mine at ford did my tie rods he said they were a bolt in unit has anyone heard of this?

you need a 20 TON press to "push" these in.
