Hi all, I just purchased a 2001 Trooper and need to find info on changing the timing belt. 67K mi without a change on it. If anyone wouldn't mind, could you send me the manual at [email protected]? Thanks a million!

67k is way to soon.

most are going about 100-120k.

There have been some recent posts of folks changing them at 155k and 175k.

Unless you do a lot of towing or off roading I would wait another 40k.

Since I am new to the Isuzu family, I have a question about these timing belts. If/When they break, is there any damage to the engine... i.e. heads, valves and such? I really don't know much about Isuzu other than what friends who own them (and are not mechanically inclined) have told me.

Nope if it breaks you are fine.

I can't upload now due to connection speed, but just an FYI, the manual covers Isuzus from '99-'02. 1994 is quite a bit different.

DUDE...if you allow your timing belt to BREAK, you're going to have some troubles. DO NOT let that happen. My engine was DESTROYED when my timing belt "slipped" ever so slightly after being worn. DO NOT go beyond the recommended milage for your timing belt unless you want to REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE as I just did. Yes, it hits itself when the timing belt slips.

Have the job done professionally - and by someone who is familar with idiosyncracies of the Isuzu engine. Or else, my friend.

If somebody is willing to upload the manual, here is the great site to host it.

http://www.eserviceinfo.com/

After upload, the file will remain at the website forever. This will help the isuzu community as it provides a great reference to the vehicle. In addition this website contains numerous datasheets and service manual for different devices and automobiles.

Bump for another upload, possibly. If the original poster of the UL doesn't mind. I would greatly appreciate it.
Sincerely,
A trooper owner as of today

The Russian 4x4 ftp site is great. At your own risk. I downloaded the 99 shop manual trooper. This was over 2000 pages. It is in pdf format. I had no problems. If anybody finds a 1996 trooper manual please let me know. Thanks Ryan for the link. I seen it on 4x4wire yesterday.

New to the forum and am excited to learn about the 2000 Trooper manual download. See it's only available for a limited time and by a limited number of users. I tried the "russian" site and no luck!! Can anyone post it again. Really need some answers to a couple of quirky problems. :banghead: Thanks all!
