wiring an extra battery

heres the plan: random battery under the hood, running in parallel to an optima yellow top in the trunk. should i use 2ga or 4ga for this direct battery to battery connection? i doubt it has any relevance, but ill be powering 1550 watts rms of amps off the yellow top.
