i talked to a mechanic earlier. He told me i could just drop in a 6bolt without changing the harness

Thanks for the tip! Or was that supposed to be a question? :D Either way, Thats correct. You will have to swap over some of the sensors, but its all easy work. The only rewiring will be for the 1g CAS. Which then in turn causes the dreaded random misfire CELs. The baro wire mod is the poor mans fix, while DSMlink will do the job correctly. www.magnusmotorsports.com and www.roadraceengineering.com have tons of info. The swap is very common and very well documented.

oh kool. So if i just get a 6bolt tomorrow (yea right) and just switch some sensors, and probably grab a handy DSMlink im all set right? no need for overhauling? :o

Overhaul on the motor? That all depends on the condition of the motor you buy.

Anytime you buy a used engine you should send it to the machine shop to have it looked at.

yea i kno that but theres nothing else needed to do but switch the sensors and do some drilling for the mouting/water pump right?

I gave you the links above. This is a well documented process. Please do the research. Its not something that is easy enough to sum up in a few words, and I'm not going to write a novel about something that is already been covered 1000 times. The magnus site even has a parts list that is specific to the 95-96 and 97-99s. It doesnt get any better. Happy reading :)
