95 cougar blower problem

I have a 95 XR7 .. right during our recent heat wave .. my blower quit. The A/C is still running ... the fuse for the A/C is still good ... I pulled the climate control panel and replaced the source switch with a ford factory new one .... no effect ... when I pulled the electrical cable off the back of the switch I could jumper it and make the fan run all speeds ... but the fuse blew after a few mins ... is there a ground relay somewheres that I am not aware of for the fan ??
