Hey,
I stripped the body today and wetsanded down the plastic bumpers.
K20 motor for you honda groupies... :disappoin

I don't really like those rims. Or the kit for that matter. Paint is undecided now. And maybe it will be rice after all. You'll see
Frank X.

Revell's upcoming plastic RSX Type S should be relatively rice-free. It's not even listed as a tuner. It's apparently the '05 style.

Let's hope everything comes out like that;)
Looks like a Mugen hood with a Veilside body kit:thumbsdow
If only they could've gone all Mugen:(, I guess thats an easy modification.

Yea. I reaaaaaally don't like those rims. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll trade you these for anything else. Well...maybe anything.
I cut up the suspension to lower it. Revell molded the front A arms to the skid plate? under the engine. They were so easy to cut off. Rear suspension, I just cut some material off. The metal revell used for this and the wrx kit is very thin. Much better then a maisto diecast. The metal seems to be the same thickness as the plastic bumpers.

Horrse,
The tires are low profile, it's just the way the pic is. They are not the same tires from the earlier tuner kits tho. A little thicker, sidewall wise. The main body is diecast. The bumpers, mirros and such are plastic.

The body is thin diecast and the bumpers are plastic.
When the plastic RSX kit comes out the basic "guts" (engine/chassis/interior/glass) will be from this kit, it will have a plastic body and new bumpers and lenses and I assume stock wheels/tires.
These kits are a bit expensive at about $21 retail, though many can manage to sneak them out at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off their price which is about $9 or $10. I'm sure the plastic kit will be a bit cheaper, and will be plentiful at Hobby Lobby.

I picked up a few Revell WRX's for $9 each from a guy who had no luck trying to sell them to his normal "old school" clientele. Good parts kits. I hope they go plastic w/the WRX or STi. I have an AMT Brat that's getting the WRX engine/drivetrain and assorted goodies :naughty: .

$9!!!! I was lucky enough to get one at the NNL for $12. Mr. Sexton, the dude from revell, said the STi is definate. He also said plastic version is 75% likely...They better make this. If you honda guys can get the RSX, I want my dam Suby!!

Did you prime the bumpers and the body?
blubaja
07-28-2005, 08:05 PM
I laid a flat black 1st coat. That acted as my primer. Then painted a light coat of duplicolor colorshift, then a coat of tamiya colorshift, and a different tamiya colorshift. Then duplicolor clear.
