pressure plate and clutch please

veedub mechanic if you can help i need both fly wheel to crank
and pressure plate to flywheel. i am changing a friend of mines
auto to a manual. i have a book on passats but i do not think it
covers the vr6 which is what i am working on. it tells me to go to
44 lbs then take all 90 degrees more. it seams like alot. i hop you
can help. tech info.... 1993 vw passat vr6 auto/ now manual.
the tranny is also out of a 93 passat.

44 ft lbs sounds ok. The bolts are torque to yeild bolts (hence the +90deg. after torque) that are supposed to be replaced after install.
Pressure plate bolts should only be like 12 or 14nm

veedubmechanic.**************thanks for the replace tip. i pulled a
favor at the vw dealer and the toqure on the flywheel
is 44 then 45 degrees. but he did not tell me they were
a replace so thanks for that.
