Headlamp

I recently purchased a 96 cherokee after owning an 88' pioneer for 6 years. This one already has a few problems (water pump, window, lock) but my pops is a mechanic who can fix it. The bad thing that just happened is he lives 200 miles away and I need to drive home to have him fix these and now my headlights dont work. I can actually pull the headlamp switch/knob all the way out of the socket. It does click back it but it's completely lose in terms of turning on the lights. Is this the headlamp switch or something else. My pop works on dodges and he needs to see it to figure it out....

My money says it's the switch. It's not hard to change and should be available at most parts stores.
