I dunno how or what to say. Hate being poor. Long story short. Start new job yesterday in the middle of heat wave in md. Great day at new buisness. LIttle brother decided to turn all the vents in the hows to the close postion. 11 clock, my room is 92 degrees inside. Try to sleep not happening, finally sleep by 1 and wake up all through the night, sleeping for at most an hour at a time . Now mind you i still had the air on, turned all the way down to 60 last night. Wake up at 7 oclock cuz im so tired.... When i was supposed to be there at 6:30. Im so mad right now i cant think of waht to do. new boss first words yesterday were be on time everyday and we wont have a problem. Already called him and he said have fun looking for a new job. WTF!!!! was even honest with him about waht happened. Lil bro jjjust thinks its a joke. Hes old enough to have to work and my parents dont make him. Im so fawking mad i cant see straight. Ive lost another fucking job and im furious!!!!!!! absolutely furious. .Its frustrating watching shit continually go down hill after you continually do the best you can to kepp it moving up hill. its 7:10 as i wrote this. I dunno i needed to vent.
Edit. its 8:40 am. Ive managed to at least keep this job, called my boss and pleaded with him ,so things arent so terribly bad any more. Sorry for wasting the time to post this.

I dont think my mom;s would be to happy if I were to drown him. He is after all my youngest brother. Although........naa couldnt do it. I think I am going to talk to my dad. I will hang in. Been doing it for a long time and things keep looking better everytime i get mad and then decide to do something to make a change.
Lol cant help but laugh at how mad i was this morning. I gave my lunch to the dogs i was so mad.

It's easy to blame your little brother for sleeping late, but next time set your alarm to be at work on time, no matter what your sleep situation is. There are going to be days/mornings/nights whatever where you will have to suck it up and deal with a lack of sleep to get to work on time. It's not like your car broke down or something catostrophic happened. I would have fired you too the second day if you were late.

Lol, no time... That reminds me of the FIRST day i started autozone as a psm...
My 2...YES...2 alarm clocks are set for 6:30am.....somehow they DIDN'T go off....and i woke up at 7:30am (this NEVER happens cause i usually wake up at 11am)......AND I HAVE TO BE IN AT 8am...to meet the other managers...
I literally JUMP out of bed, throw on my work clothes in 2 mins..not even tucking in my shirt or brushing my teeth...or combing my hair....
I drove 24 miles on the highway (in morning rush hour) in less then 10 MINUTES.......... You'd have thought i was an undercover cop going in/out of cars..driving on emergency lanes...crazy. For some reason everything was NOT to gridlocked...thank god...
PS, i get there at 7:45am or so, hit the bath room at burger king to fix myself up.....CRAZY morning.

Why's that?
Would you take this as an excuse for being late/not coming in for work:
"Sorry I'm late MY SECOND DAY OF THE JOB. My little brother was messing with the AC last night and it was hot in my room so I didn't sleep well"? :uhoh:

I love flexible hours. As long as I'm in for at least hours days, and 80% of those are between 8am and 5pm, my boss doesn't care. I go to lunch whenever I see fit. Take off early cause im pissed, make it up the next day. You people need different jobs.

I could think of a lot of worse excuses.
Example: I'm late because I'm really hung over, had to drive my underage girlfriend home, and stopped to get high on the way to work. Got any Doritos?
When you compare it to something like that, the little brother/ AC thing ain't too bad of an excuse.

LMAO that one makes the Little brother/ AC excuse look like there was a death in the family or something.

depending on the type of work and everything, would you want your employees working with lack of sleep? i know i wouldn't

Lets just throw responsibility right out the window. :grinno: Working at a job requires certain responsibilities and one of those is getting enough sleep TO work. It's the real world and you get nowhere slapping the snooze button. Life isn't preschool and mommy doesn't drag your ass out of bed anymore. But hey, if she does.... then good for you. She can keep wiping your mouth after constantly feeding you with a golden spoon.:iceslolan
:2cents:
Damn, that sounded harsh. I wasn't directing that at you teknology. Sorry.

I think it seems like an okay excuse, as long as it isn't used repeatedly. Everyone has to have a decent amount of sleep (except meth addicts), and most people will, at one time or another, have trouble getting enough sleep.

I didn't read all this thread, just the first few posts, but here is my opinion.
I can sympathize with you about the shitty-ness of the situation, but when it comes down to it, getting out of bed and leaving on time for work is something you have to take control of. It doesn't matter what your brother did, because when 6 o clock rolled around you should have been leaving the house. Sleep or no sleep. I'm not flaming on you or even trying to act like I have no sympathy, I just think you need to learn that when life doesn't cater to you, you have to help yourself. When you take care of your responsibilities no matter what issues come up, thats when you start complaining. But you can't let little things like this hold you back.
If you think about this really hard, you'll see that you could have prevented it. Everybody and their mother has bad days and bad twists of fate, but you can't let those things stop you from owning up to your responsibilities. Instead, you just get out of bed at 6, eyes half shut, drag your feet along to your car, get a couple red bulls from the gas station, go to work and do your best. Then you complain after work. I think its obvious why that would have been better.
Just make sure you learn from this.
