Hi guys
I just bought a 2001 Durango and the a/c didn't work that great, blows cool but not cold, so i took it back and they said it needed a new compressor and they put one on at no charger to me but it is still not blowing as cold as i would think it should, Any solutions? i've read that the Durango just doesn't have a good a/c or to change the blower motor . Is there a solution to it without spending a ton of money or just live with it? Thanks for any help.....

I bought a '99 new and the ac has never blown cold, just cool. From everyone I've spoken with, this is just the standard quality of their ac units.

Sorry guys, but no, it's not true that "it just doesn't have a good ac".
My ac will freeze you out.
You've got a problem that I'll bet can be fixed, just need to find what it is. I'm sure you've each had the pressures checked, the clutch, the compressor. Might also be improper positioning of the dampers or damper leakage.
Good luck.

I just bought a used 2000 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 with 64K miles and it blows icy cold air. Yours sounds like it needs more freon added to the system. Having someone add freon doesn't cost that much but you WILL want to shop around a little for the best price to have it done and NOT get ripped off.

No, It's not the freon as i have checked that and it's fine, I do think it could be the dampers though, A friend of mine that works in a repair shop told me that the Durangos are good for that and the evaporater coil, Thanks for all of your replys, I will mpst likeley just have to suffer with it as it could be a tough job to take the dash out and it might have to wait...
