We have a lot of new faces here lately, and I have been meaning to set up something like this for a while.
Tell a little something about yourself...
Where your from and what you do
Favorite mediums
Hobbies
Vehicles
Interests
Favorites
Etc
A pic of yourself (if you want)
And your AIM/MSN/MySpace/etc if someone wants to shoot the shit with ya.
And your LATEST single piece of artwork. Meaning, the last thing you worked on.
Ill start...
My name is Tim, Im from a little city in Colorado, USA called Centennial (borders Littleton, made famous by the Columbine shootings). I graduated high school last May, and now I am enrolled at the University of Colorado in Denver. I am going to be taking 2 art classes right off the bat, and I'll be starting my classes there in late August. Here is a rather current picture, taken a few days ago...
http://myspace-486.vo.llnwd.net/00168/68/43/168523486_l.jpg
Currently I drive 2 cars, a 1995 Chevy Cavalier (my project car). Has exhaust, intake, full stereo, tint, 16" rims, neon and all sorts of cool little stuff. Plus tons of custom painting inside and out (you may remember my thread "Biggest Project Yet" with the half naked pinup on my trunklid). The other car is my brand new 2005 Chevy Cobalt, acting as the daily driver.
I enjoy all music, with the exception of 80% of all country, and stuff like Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, etc. My favorite stuff would come from the Rockabilly genre- which is stuff like Chris Isaak, Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Tiger Army, The Cramps, and Social Distortion. I dont really watch much TV anymore, but I do enjoy The Simpsons and Family Guy when I can. Favorite color is blue, favorite food is pizza.
I work at an elementary school to pay the bills. I am a supervisor at an afterschool/summer program. Basically its daycare. My last job which I was laid off from was at a shop caled Great American Tire, where I was a mechanic.
As far as my art goes, I have been creating since I could hold a pencil. Inspired by my Dad's gift, I have always strived for perfection. I am an avid doodler, and I am always getting yelled at by bosses/teachers to knock it off. But I dont.
My most favoritest stuff to work with is OneShot enamel. Commonly used with my most favoritest art forms, pinstriping and lowbrow art. If you go into NonAuto Art you will see many threads bv me, most all of which are this style of art. I have been going at it for about 2 years now. I also enjoy working in pencil, pen, Sharpie, colored pencil, crayon, blood, chalk, stabilo, Photoshop, Illustrator, pastel and India Ink.
My latest work- Literally straight out of the scan.
http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/514/untitlejjjd17ty.jpg
A doodle I did at work in crayon while supervising on the playground. The ugly lines through it are there because this is the back of the attendance list, and when kids leave we cross their names out. Sharpie bleeds through. So there ya go...
...
...Well the KIDS liked it!

Name: Robin Ritter
From: Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany. (20 km from Porsche, 30 km from Mercedes-Benz)
Age: 18
Current Occupation: Student, but currently working for Porsche
Hobbies:
I like going out with my friends for a beer and enjoy riding my MTB. If the weather is bad I build papermodels which I print from the web, like here, my friends car:
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/3213/r5small26jd.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I also designed my own from blueprints, they can be downloaded here:
http://www.papermodels.net.ms
Drawing and designing cars is my greatest hobby. I want to earn money with that later. I want a job that connects creativity and automotive engineering.
I used to draw with pencils only but I now render my drawing with copic markers.
Currently I'm busy with getting my driving license (18 years of age is minimum here) and I then want to buy a car like... umm... a Toyota Corolla maybe.

Well, I'm not much of a sketcher, but I have been known to doodle from time to time.
My name is Kat, and I'm a car-aholic.
I'm 21, currently a 2-year senior at Texas A&M University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I'm currently working an internship at Peterbilt Motors in Denton, Tx. You know, the guys who make the really big trucks you see pulling stuff on the highway!
I drive a 99 Civic EX, I hate it, I will never own a Honda again. I'm selling it at the end of the summer for either a Formula/Trans Am Firebird or a Mustang GT/Cobra. Depends on which one I find first.
When I sketch, which is rare, I use whatever is in my hand at the moment. Usually a mechanical pencil. This is the only thing I have hosted at the moment, I got about an hour into it and completely lost interest.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/238578mustang1-med.JPG
I have a pretty nice Porche on my desk, but I don't have a digital copy. Most of what I do is modelling. Like, building little cars kinda modelling. I have no pictures of myself, I'm working on something to that effect at the moment.
My favorite color is somewhere between a green and a blue, I like music (except rap/hip hop, but that's not music) and...
Guess that 'bout sums me up...I'm a huge fan of Alex!!

Its not car related, neither my most recent drawing, but I thought I should definitely share it cuz its gotta be one of my best and I was only like 12 when I drew it!
my aim is xPhazeEdenX, feel free to say hi anytime ya want
at the moment I live in Dallas,TX, actually just south of it anyone has heard of Duncanville
Most of my hobbies revolve around cars someway.Whether its racing and/or fixing them (can't have one without the other), drawing when I have the time, playing/watching sports, videogames, chillin with friends, etc
Right now I drive a 98 Mitsu Eclipse RS. eh, I guess its alright for a first car, just not fast enough for me at all (check out the pic below, I drove both of em a few days ago) :grinyes:
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8407/maria20050719ai4md.jpg
My favorite cars basically include anything Nissan. Silvia/240sx, Skyline, the Z family, so on and so on. I LOVE drifting so I like rotaries like the old school FC rx7s and ofcourse FD's.

Holy shit I really get jealous when I see the pics above. I wouldn't even dream of a Eclipse as a first car and beeing able to choose between an Elise/Exige and an WRX Sti would make me sick!
Do you have to pay any taxes on your cars? Insurance? gas?
How can a student drive such a car? Or like Kustm, 2 cars... You know, it's unbelievable from here, where I live.
:crying: :crying: :crying: that's not fair!!!

Sure, actually cars are over price here...hehehe all of them.
The Chavy Blazer that GirlBear drives, if i remember, she posted here when she bought it and the price was around U$1500 if i'm not wrong...
Well, the same car here is around U$6500.
This is very bad...and the worst part is that here almost 60% of car prices are taxes.

$1500 sounds great for a Blazer but the a/c was removed. and there is a leak somewhere . coolant drips from the middle of the bottom side of the engine. and i spent countless hours trying to track it down. i add h2o every couple of weeks like a gallon or so. the stereo SUCKS!! Cassette am/fm, bland tone terrible sound. i really hate it. but im havin one installed in 4 days and im gonna smash the factory 1 when they take it out.lol

Well my name is Will. I've been a member for a little over 2 years and I think i've posted in the auto art section twice. However I read just about everything that goes through here.
I am a computer art major at SUNY Oneonta in NY. I am starting year number 6 for my bachelor's degree :shakehead . (used to be an engineering major... changed my junior year). Anyway I have some work but I generally find myself too busy to do my artwork. I work in a garage and as a carpenter to make money, as well as go to college as stated above. Here is a candid shot a friend took one night. \
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/68508new-me.jpg
Unfortunately my latest work is an unfinished piece from about 2-3 months ago... hopefully i'll get it done soon. Oh and though i'm new to pen and ink it is by far my favorite medium.

hi, my name is Alex and i'm 14. i live near Chicago in Illinois(US for those that don't know).
i've liked cars for probably like my whole life, but for like 4-5 years i've been really into cars. i like tuners more than anything else. my favorite car is the Toyota Supra(93-98) and i would definately want to get one when i grow up. i usually stay around the car modelling forum, but sometimes come here to see what's up and show some of my work to people.
hmmmm... i play clarinet and electric bass(i play bass for the worship team at church). i spend a lot of my time on the computer especially since i'm on summer break now. i play a lot of Counter-Strike.
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... i like to draw with .7 and .5 mm mechanical pencils and ~70 lb paper. i might start with markers or something and start coloring my drawings soon. maybe.
i play basketball(though i'm not that good) and my main sport is running. i run cross country and also run track. in track i run mainly sprints(100m - 400m) but occasionally i run the 800m.
this isn't my latest work, but is probably my best:

Here she is my new stereo. everything I wanted Mp3 wma Cda 50x4 watts. detatchable face remote. Got it for cheap too.
http://hereforgear.com/images/KDG310.jpg
Installed it myself too. Circuit City Sux. Free installation. But installation kit is $60. Plus I bought it at 6pm and they couldn't install it til 9pm. Man it was easier than I thought it would be. Running the wires for my amp (POS) was the most time consuming.
