Which external hard drive should I get? (4 my b-day)

Hi,

I decided that I want to get an external hard drive for my b-day. I have plenty of photos, vids, and music I can put on it. I haven't even priced them yet :p

I'm hoping it will be no more than $250 :confused:

What do I look for in a decent hard drive? I am looking for something that is a pretty good size. Hold plenty of photos, vids, and music.

Should I get it from the net or what? My buddy works over at a local Circuit City so he may be able to grab one for me with his generous discount ;)

Why would you want external? They are slower. Just buy an internal one, they are VERY easy to install. :) Plus they are probably cheaper. You could probably find like 120+ GB for 250.
