rear window

My rear window won't go up or down with the switches, only when I use the key is in the door lock then it goes up and down. does anyone know or ran into this problem before? Thanks

So the driver switch and the switch in the rear does not work? Just that one window? Both up AND down doesn't work with the switches?

Fuses first, then pull the drivers switch and check the connection/ continuity...

Sounds like your window regulator motor control module for that door is bad. Neither switches work but the command from the comfort system activates the window. If you remove the door pannel and tap the motor and black plastic part with a hammer slightly and see if the window works.

Thanks, I'm new to this VW thing. I couldn't understand why the switches didn't work but the key in the door did.... Regulator huh? I will try that, thanks again.

I tapped on it and still nodda, so do I need a new motor? or can this be fixed? thanks for all the help.
