95 Ram 1500 4x4, 4wd Issues!!!

I have a 1995 Ram 1500 4x4 that I just purchased for a very cheap price. Problem is, when I put the manual shifter into 4 High, it lights up saying "4x4", but it doesn't feel like it's engaged. Anyone else ran into this problem?? If so, what's the fix? Please help.

yes I have ran into a similar problem in two vehicles already. The first thing you need to check is evry easy. right underneath the cenetr of the truck up by the front axle is vacum lines. Make sure they have not popped off. That is the only fix I ever needed with a 4x4 system so far. My liens love to pop off due to my driving and light offroading.
