back seat removal

Could anyone suggest the trick to taking out the back seat (bottom and back sections)?

What year of cavy do u have because i have a 94 cavy and all u have to do is remove two screws and the bottom slides right out and i think there are teo more screws for the top part of the seat and if there isn't then they just slide out as well. Also ru replacing the back seats? if u r then could u tell me where u got the replacement seats because i've been looking for some flip down seats for the back of my cavy.

If you pull on the front of the back seat, a couple of clips should pop out. You may have to tug a little. If you run your hands along the front underneath where the seat meets the carpet, you should feel them. After you pull the bottom of the back seat out, two screws for the back on the hinges and done. No back seat.

Newer style you have to put the back at like a 45 degree angle and then slide to the left and it should pull out. Just have to play with it a little till you get it but it has to be at an angle.

in my 97 the bottom just pops out, pull up on it and its out. Theres only two clips that hold it in, i think its two anyways......

My clips came out to of the mounts on my 97 Cavalier. Can anyone post a picture of what the clips look like properly installed, or give a good description of how they fit in there?

=D Robbie is the only one that seems anything like mine. And since mine are currently out right now.... I think I know how to do them. Altho urs is for a 97 Sunfire, maybe its the same as an 03 cavalier. =D Anyway, do what robbie said. The bottem part should just be a big foam thing with little connector thingys that fit into the clips. When you get that out, there shuold be the seat belts, and the bottem hinge of the top/back seat. You might want to take out the seatbelts for ease of getting to the top/back part of the seat, but when I did it, it left holes thru bottem. Like I could litterally see thru the car to the ground. But, I just covered them up with duct tape. Anyway, once those are out, there should be a long metal peice (the hinge) with bolts thru it. Take those off, and pull! Should slide right off. But that thing is hella tricky to get back on, especially by urself. Awful heavy to when you have to make precise movements to match the holes to the bolts in a cramped space. Oh, and btw, just out of curiosity, what you taking them out for?

i'm gonna take my back seat out and leave if backseatless. that oughta cut down on the people who ask for a ride then follow up with can you take my cousin/sister/brother/friend to the "________" first?

what does it look like under your seats? if it was necessary would someone be able to sit there?

=D Its bare metal, the color of the car, with 2 indentions where people would normally sit with a slight rise in the middle. I actually prefer to sit on it without the seat, it feels much more comfortable. So as long as whoever is in dire need of a seat would not hate it, but you might want to keep the seatbelts somewhere, that way if you get pulled over, you wont have to pay so much, if they actually do give u a ticket.

lol ok then i'll just charge people a 25 dollar risk fee every time they get in to have the money ready if i get a ticket..
