whats up everyone.
I would like to know how many diferent types of cc's there are for bikes( 250, 600) those are the only two i really know about. i was wondering if anyone could tell me the different types, and their top speeds. i would also like to know what your favorite bike is, and its cc's.

well as far as sport bikes go there are 250cc around 100mph, 400cc (115mph), 500cc (130mph-ish), 600cc (150 to 160mph), 750cc (155 to 165mph), 900cc (160 to 170mph), 919cc (about the same as 900), 929cc (same as 919), 954cc (175-180mph), 996cc around 170 (because ducati makes these and they are more about torque), 1000cc (175-182mph), 1100cc (same as liter bike), 1200cc (the kawasaki zx-12 has been clocked at a top speed of 185+), 1300cc (the hayabusa has been clocked at 189.9mph but that is when it is governed, i've seen vids of stock ones running 200 to 205mph)...hehe...lots of options, and i would have to say that my favorite bike would be a Honda CBR 1000RR and that would be 1000cc's, i hope i was able to help ya:)

Top speed is a hard thing to say. "King" said top speed for 1000 is ~182. The video above is of a Kawasaki going so fast that the speedo won't even read it. It stops at 189 but keeps accelerating. He HAS to be going around 200 on it and he only has an exhaust and a computer...can't make THAT much of a difference...1000cc = 182mph, as you say to 200mph+ with 2 mods. Newer bikes are REALLY FAST. Especially by car-standards. Kinda looks like you might need to bump your top speed numbers up some, man...

Don't forget that even digital speedos usually show like 10% more than actual speed.

:dunno: I dunno...prove it. I don't see why a digi would be any more inaccurate than a analog speedo...they both work in much the same manner. Maybe it's a bike thing...

200mph on a motorcycle! thats CR@ZY!!!

they're 5-10% incorrect, it's a manufacture thing, plus changing the trail, tire, or dropping or increasing sprockets also affect the speedo reading. it's not about whether speedo is digital or analog, they're all more or less inaccurate. best way to determine is speedo healer, which cuts it down to about 0.25%.

1999 Hayabusa went about 189 mph I think, stock. literbikes are bit less than that, and 600 CCs are doing about 160 mph.

i got all my numbers from sportrider.com.....and a computer and pipe makes a huge difference for bikes....that could add 10-15hp and when you're only riding around with 400 ish lbs it makes a large difference...and some of the numbers of liter bikes are the GOVERNED top speed so i'm sure they can go faster but they're governed at that speed....:)

changing the trail, tire, or dropping or increasing sprockets also affect the speedo reading.
Thats not always the case, my bike runs the speedo on the front wheel, so only changing the profile of the front tyre would alter the reading of the speedo.

I know there are things that would affect the speedo, but he kinda made it sound like digi speedos are more inaccurate than analog ones are.

10-15 hp is a huge gain for a bike. That's cool shit.

top speed and quarter times will vary so much from a, say, 96 YZF1000 to the current R1.
so it would be hard to catergorize any group.

my speedo is gearbox driven and is 13% out

That's what I was sayin. New bikes are SO FAST that it's not even funny. I don't know a ton about bikes, but I bet a newer 600 could outrun just about anything that was out 10 years ago.

What's your sig all about, aussie? Sucks vomit?

every year they get faster .. prolly because they get lighter...

my bike (cbr F3) is like 470 dry... new CBR 600 RR... 370 dry.. with more hp to kick... insane

my sig is a personal joke with Z_fanatic.

he called me things and i'm responding. all in good humor though.

in 98 i test rode a YZF1000 Thunderace and it was fast. maybe not as quick as a current 600 off the line but it would pull it in within the quarter mile

No joke. Meanwhile, cars are generally getting fatter and heavier...go figure...

Yeah, I'm not too fond of the new Eclipse, they get uglier with every redesigned model. Even if they tried to make it look like the older models. Where's the AWD??
