DSM3D: Part 1 - 420a - Coming Soon

For all of us 420a people, the 420a motor is almost complete. DSM3D's shell is just about complete also. The shell and first downloads will be available (I'm hoping) in about 1-2 weeks. Website will be up soon also. I jsut wanted to post this to show people that work is getting done.

For those who are asking what the deal is...:
DSM3D will have the different engines (420a, 4g63...) as complete 3D models. You will be able to view all sides of the engines and see where are the sensors are, and certain parts, helping you learn about your engine. The program will be a download, where patched and updates will be available to allow you to add other options as they become available. For example, the 420a section will be done first and become available. When I finish the others, they will be available to add on to the exsisting program. This program also works for other cars that have the same engines (Neons, Avengers...).

These are jsut 2 screen shots in 3D Studio Max. The first one is EARLY modeling of the 420a. It was day 1. Don't laugh. LOL.

This second one is a more complete version. Textures and more items on. Still not done though.

I was originally going to charge for DSM3D, but I decided to give back to the community that has helped me so much. I do ask that you donate if you use the program and find it helpful/useful. The more positive feedback I will get the better everything will be.

That is pretty sweet, but can I ask what made you want to do it? It looks like a shit load of work and time. I'm glad you decided to put forth the effort though. I bet it turns out awesome. Keep it up man.

I wanted to do it for a couple reasons:

1) I'm a computer programmer/modeler/graphics person. Im in school for it all.

2) I jsut want to help out. I like helping people, and there's nothing like this out there. Sure there's the Haynes books and all, but it's just drawings. Here, you have full 3D models. And yes, it is alot of work.
