Has anyone installed any recent aftermarket cool air intakes onto their engine?

I had a DIY solution, but didn't see too much improvement over stock.

I saw availability of Air-Raid. KN and other airflow systems and was wondering if anyone noticed any imrovement on their 4.0 I6 engine?

Local canvassing of jeepers resulted in a mixed response. Most said it was a lot of money for not much bang.

From what I remember of discussions on this, there was a mixed review on the value here as well.

If you were to go with a header, high flow cat and a catback exhaust in addition to the intake, you might find that they compliment eachother and get a better result over all.

More bucks out of the wallet....................

I love mine. K&N FiPK.
Even if i dont consider it a performance upgrade, I'll have one for every other vehicle I buy. (as a matter of fact, i'm on another web page waiting for the newest version of Adobe to DL so i can see the dyno on what the fipk does for my wife's 00 tahoe)
It made a very noticable difference in the regular drivability of my 00 Sahara. It runs so much more smoothly with the unrestricted airflow, I was completly satisfied with the $250 i spent. Standing on the outside of the vehicle with the motor running (i feel kinda silly stating those last two things), you can hear how much air is being sucked in by that bad mo-fo. You can place you hand in front of the grill where the hood meets the grill and feel the air being sucked thru.
Then i slapped a Banks header and cat-back on it, and now I cant keep my foot out of it. Don't ask ME about milage improvements.

I agree, with other changes: headers, exhaust, high flow cat and over sized throttle body there is a great difference in performance. Basides, with the cold air kit and the throttle body, it makes a cool whistle sound @ half throttle. I also like the way the cold air intake looks under the hood.

obviously you're going to benefit tremendously with the addition of all of these parts. If I knew I was getting all 3 very soon (this is exactly what happened to me, and i wouldnt change it if i had to do it all over again), I'd start with the fipk. It's not what's gonna make all of your your sound (but it does help some), or the best giddy-up improvement, but it makes you jeep run sooo much better, and sets you up to be able to hear the full bang of the exhaust components once they're on.

I'm still lacking the TB, but I'm real hesitant because it's hard to find the right 62mm spacer i want for the hi-flo TB.
