95 escort 5 speed with clutch problems

Well, we replaced the slave cylinder and still no luck. It's still doing the same thing. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Maybe try this: Pump the clutch pedal several times and hold it to the floor. Start the car and put it in gear but hold the clutch pedal to floor. If, after several minutes, the car starts to move then you are losing pressure in the hydraulic line going to the slave cylinder. Since you have a new slave cylinder then that would mean the clutch master cylinder is bad. :)

A transmission person told us to do the following to solve our problems. He said to eliminate the check valve on the fire wall or fender well and put the two lines together? Does this make any sense?
