help, JVC CD troubleshooting

Hey, I had a JVC KD-S550 installed in my Mitsubishi Galant for about 5 years and it's ben working fine then all of a sudden CD player automatically ejects any CD clean or not and refuses to play anything! The radio still worked fine but I installed a newer JVC KD-S5050 anyway. I wasn't sure how to install it so I just made things easier by taking the wires and things out of the old one and plugging right into the new one and the same problem reappeared!! So is my problem with the wiring, power, any advice. Thanks in advance.

very odd...my first assumption would be that the unit went bad, but your new one is doing the same.

I would guess you have a short somewhere 5 years of hot and cold can deteriate electrical tape and make wires brittle.


Which wire is it ? I dont know...maybe the antenna lead. maybe its shorting out and tricking the deck to be in RADIO mode.
