Flippin' Windows Media Player(problem)

Whenever I watch movies/video's now it plays them as if the screen is showing part of it. I went to watch Beavis and Butthead Do America and it's zoomed in on the center of it for some damn reason. Is it because of my resolution on my computer, or is it a setting in WMP??

What version?

Version 10, I just upgraded today from Version 9 but it did the same thing with that too. I upgraded because with the newest version of MSN Messenger you can select it to show what song is playing, and I thought there was a problem with that cuz at one time it worked, doesn't now.

Edit: Nevermind the MSN part I just figured it out. It was an unselected box in the options, I'll scavenge around for the video problem. Thanks in advance if you figure it out before I, which might not be hard.

Still haven't figured this out, I tried changing screen resolution but yeah, didn't help it still did the same, and I cannot find anything in the Options folder when you go to the Tools selection. I'm completely fooled on this, it never use to do it, and I'm pretty sure I never changed anything when it started doing it. PLEASE help.

AARRGGHHH!! Stupid computers, I was getting upset and opened it up by going into the folder, instead of through Windows Media Player, and now it plays them regularly again, I swear I didn't go into any settings, all the video's are normal again, WTF?

I'm not really sure what your problem is exactly.. can you take a screenshot? Are you saying that part of the video is cropped out, like it's zoomed it? Maybe your zoom / pan and scan options are turned on?

Yeah, that's exactly it, except I never went in and changed any of them for anything, never noticed anything in the Options either for that but that's exactly what it seemed to be doing. I guess it's resolved for now, hopefully it stays that way. Thanks eversio.

I've never had any problems playing anything. Nothing's ever required a certificate either. There's a setting in WMP to auto-download certificates. Under the Privacy menu tab, make sure "Acquire Licenses Automatically for Protected Content" is checked. Otherwise, have you checked that you're on an Admin profile? :p
