I have a 91 GMC Seirra, It has 200,000 miles on original motor. I have a guy ready to rebuild motor and stroke it. Im wanting to stroke it to a 383 stroker but the rotating kit alone is $900 and after rebuilding it comes out to be about $2000 when just the rebuild of 350 is $1000. Is the 383 really worth the extra 1000 in terms of torque and hp or would it be about the same with the 350???????? put a 350 Vortec in maybe also???????????

HP is not much of a gain, were talking about 3-5 hourses, if that...I think you get around 15 more foot pounds of torque, but Im not really sure...in short, if your one of those guys who want to pay 1,000s of dollars to get a couple more hourses...go for it...if not, I wouldnt do it...except the words "Yeah, I got a stroker in their" rolls of the tongue so nice. :)

If it was me and I had the money I would skip the rebuild and the stroker and go straight to a crate it will cost more then either of the others but like Tall said your really not going to got a whole lot of HP and torque gains out of the stroker for the money you'll pay. Or if your like me and have no money and not a lot of time, what i did was went out bought a alum. block and every payday i go and buy parts and am building my own custom engine. What ever you decide good luck!
