lol... nothing important here... just felt angry cuz i messed up my paintjob for the first time today. i tried to spray some Duplicolor Metalcast anodized blue over some primer and silver undercoat and it came out all funky. like not very shiny like i expected. it had reflections but the color was too... solid. so i figured i would just spray another coat of silver over it and some blue over that. but it turns out that the silver came out flat(either because i didn't shake it long enough or it's too humid) and then i just went out to look at it and i realized there was way too much paint on the model and the paint is filling in the panel lines and everything. argh. so i need to strip it and restart. anybody have any tips how to use the Duplicolor Metalcast colors?

i did a search and apparently CSC doesn't remove laquers right? so that means it won't take of Duplicolor, correct? so i guess Dot3 would be the best candidate for me to use. if any one has any other suggestions for what i should use to strip the paint feel free to post.

thanks.

Black Base, AlcadII, then Duplicolor Metalcast. I would Highly suggest you use an airbrush when using mealcast's paint. I personally think this type of paint needs to be drained from the can and airbrushed in very light coats. Very tricky paint.

lol i wish i had an airbrush... but wouldn't a silver basecoat work also? i had a test piece that looked great. almost like the cap, but a little lighter in color. that test piece had a silver basecoat also. i think it was done in lighter coats so the silver still kinda showed through. my problem is that this was done on a sprue and that didn't require me to get even mist coats. how do i get even mist coats on the car? should i just build up light mist coats until it looks even?

thanks for your help!
