thanks anyways
i checked with my local dealer and just got the run around. they claim i need to buy the whole fuel pump assy to get the sending unit.
gmparts direct shows 3 or 4 different part #s and i am having a hard time figuring out what is what. being that it is usualy difficult to return electrical items i would really prefer to know the # as opposed to just guessing
with so many people claiming to have a bad fuel sending unit it is kind of disappointing that nobody knows the part #???

I just replaced the whole unit when mine started failing. I've got the old assembly, the pump is going bad but the sending unit is good. Has almost exactly 58k on it. Make an offer if you dont mind it being used. You could swap the sending unit over.

Edit: Mines out of a V6, you may want to make sure they're the same first. But I believe they are.

thanks for the offer i really appreciate it, but if i am going to go through the effort of changing this thing i would prefer to go with new. also with all the problems with these things, i kind of feel like i would be setting myself up for a problem with a used one. thanks anyways.

i honestly cant believe that with all the people that have viewed this nobody can help me with a part #.

Try "25314460" but I'm not absolutely positive with this. I searched here... http://www.gmpartsdirect.com -- in the catalog.

i did the same and that is where my confusion started. then i went to gm-trucks.com and did a search and found more different #s. i posted on the other site also and was told the # is 89060640
i have no idea wher that # comes from.
both #s seem to be good #s but i don't know which one is right.
i also have a # of 25345024 & # 25340157. pretty sure the last # is bad though.
i have no f-ing idea what # i need.
my dealer is completely unwilling to do anything other than sell me a new fuel pump assembly.
claims he never had any requests for a sender and to the best of his knowledge there are no problems with them. (now you know why i am fixing it myself)
Brandon i appreciate your help. (again!!) but it looks like i am f-cked till some one that has dealt with this issue will help me out, or i guess it looks like i am giong to have to start calling other chevy dealers.
Thanks again!

thanks a lot you have been a big help.

the more i have thought about it the more i am leaning toward just installing a new fuel pump.
found a site on line that claims to be genuine gm / delco/delphi fuel pumps and the whole assy is just under 200 bucks with shipping. i am going to look a little deeper and see if these guys are for real.
thanks again for all your help.
oh and i did findout the actual sender #
thanks again
