I have a 94 Altima GLE that a few months ago the Battery and Brake lights on the dash started flashing on and off. Sometimes coming on for a while then off again, but both lights always come on together. I had the battery and altenator checked many times since and nothing was wrong. A few weeks ago one of the belts would skweal but only when first started. Had belts replaced about 6 months ago. Then one day it just died and had to have it jumped. It fired right up. A week later same thing happened. Both times air conditioner were running. So I had the battery and altinator checked again, still no problems. So I stopped using the A/C ran fine for two more weeks. Then 2 nights ago it did the same thing happened again only this time A/C was off. We jumped it and it started but they said Battery won't hold a charge because it had been jumped two many times. So to be safe I had the altenator rebuild and new battery. Got it back today and Lights are still coming on and off. Used A/C and the skwealing noise is back. It hasn't died yet, but I am afraid to drive it anywhere because I might die again. Any thoughts or suggestions are desperatly needed, cause no one who has looked at it can seem to fix the problem. HELP????

I had a similiar problem with my Nissan Pulsar. It was the alternator arcing electricity across the regulator and shorting itself out. Surprisingly enough, it happened after I changed my fan belts for the first time...
Found that a new larger positive battery lead was needed to rectify. It was a pain in the ass trying to sort out why it died every few days.

With the alternator shorting itself out, the battery and brake lights flash on / off because the car is on the point of turning itself off.

Using the A/C drawings more battery power and makes it happen faster.

Replacing the alternator may not fix it. I have a 97 Hardbody that has a similar problem and have replaced battery and alternator several times and the problem is still currently not fixed.
