problems developing

First of all, i need all new shocks. I have a 1998 Explorer Eddie Bauer edition (124,000mi.), so i have the air leveling system in it. I want to just put regular shocks in instead of paying the $211 per pair for the air ride shocks. Is this possible? If not, is there better prices on the air shocks that somebody knows of? Or if i can put regular shocks in, what would you all recommend?
Second, the A/C has been almost totally replaced. I have a new compressor, new condensor, and new parts in between. It still blows hot air like it's on a mission...i don't know what the problem is, and it's getting expensive.
Lastly, there is a rubbing sort of noise coming from the front left driver's side. I think it's partly the shocks but it might just need grease, i don't know if this sounds familiar to anyone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There were some shocks available that replaced your air shocks - Monroe I think. Check Rockauto.com. Thats where I saw them listed.

k, thanks, i did buy some that said they would fit, the AC Delco ones...even though they make parts for GM. But low and behold, they wouldn't fit, so i'll have to look for the monroe's.
Oh, and i took out the actuator and the post isn't spinning so, i'm not sure if i should replace it or if it's a wiring problem.

Use a test light to see if you have power. Check the fuses. Monroe shocks are very good I think I had found mine at checker.

How would i go about using a test light, would i go to a place like auto zone and buy a light with the fittings for the slot (do they make a light that fits thst slot?) It's a good idea 'cus i've been trying to figure out a way to test the power.

You can get a test light from an auto part store. It looks like a pick with a screw driver handle on it and has a wire with a clip on the end that you clip onto medal and then put the pick end into what you are testing and if it lights up it has power. They should be fairly inexpensive
