I was driving for a couple of hours, then stopped to get gas, then when I went pulled into the pump, i couldn't get it back into any gear. I eventually forced it into third gear, and took off in third, then it started working fine again. Then about another hour down the road it did the same thing at a stop sign. I force it back into third and it works again. It hasn't done that since after 4+ more hours of driving. But now it is harder to shift, like it doesn't want to go into gear, and reverse is practically impossible w/o grindage. Any ideas?
Its a 92 1.9 I read in my haynes it has a hydraulic clutch, and maybe it needs bleeding? I don't know how to handle that though.

Next time it does this try turning off the engine. If it slides in gear then it's probably a cluch problem. If it doesn't then it might be a tranny problem. MAKE SURE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER IS FULL :2cents:

good tip. on my 1999 the clutch and the brake cyl are one unit. If low means there is a problem somewhere.

Yes, but problem could be with brakes. I believe the line that feeds the clutch master cylinder is not at the bottom of the brake master cylinder. That way, a leaking clutch system could not completely drain the master brake cylinder which would result in loss of brakes. Not that that has anything to do with it

Its odd because it does it off or on. Sometimes (rarely) it works fine. I still drive it everyday, and it works, you can just feel it hit when I shift. And yes the brake fluid is full
