Insurance?

What are the insurance requirements regarding motorcycles? I live in Kentucky. I've heard that motorcycles aren't required to have insurance if you wear a helmet. This sounds kinda stupid, but I dunno...it might be true.

It varies state-by-state, and even by age... Call an agent and ask.

yes you have to have insurance, because if you hit or damage someone else car, whos gonna pay for that? I know i wouldn't wanna cough up money like that. Mainly my insurance covers theft, vandalism, elemental.

Might...but it's not...I said I HEARD that insurance isn't required on bikes. If it truely wasn't required, you'd see my happy ass cruising down the road on anything with 2 wheels that I could get my hands on...I don't care if I rish crashing into a bus and going splat like I bug. I HATE auto insurance that much. I know it would depend on age, what you're riding, where you live and all that shit, but I still wonder what it'd cost relative to cars. Thought someone here would be able to give me an idea, but I guess I'm going to have to call those mother fuckers...I hate talking to them.

I've been getting RAPED since I was 16...I'm now 22 and it's not much better. Didn't have a single accident till just last november and since then, they've (progressive...GREAT ins company, especially when you go through AAA like I did...until you have an accident...) been ITCHIN' to cancel me. The last straw was when I called them recently and asked them if I could mail my payment a day late (cuz the thing was due on a sunday...wanted to mail it monday cuz I had to cash a check first) and they said I could. They told me all I had to do was mail it and call them to make sure they got it and reinstate my policy. Called to reinstate my policy...just like I was told...they told me I couldn't.

If I could ride a bike for free, I would WITHOUT A DOUBT, buy something to ride around on DESPITE the risks of which I used to scoff at.

My driving record is horrendous (11 points), and my insurance only cost 369.00 for the whole year, which isn't bad for me.

If you are going to look into motorcycle insurance check out State Farm. They are the cheapest by far here in Pennsylvania.

I've heard great stuff about state farm. I'll look into it.

My driving record is quite good...especially for my age, and I get RAPED on insurance. I was paying what you paid for a year in 2 fucking months, rayman! AND THAT WAS FOR PIP!! That was a GOOD rate, too. When I was younger, ~$200+ a month was the norm. When I turned 21, it went down a LOT for some reason...didn't know it was supposed to go down when you turned 21, but it did...not complaining. Then, last november, I was in a horrific accident. At the time, I was paying...like...100 bucks a month for coverage on my 86 300ZX turbo...and I even had a bit of actual COVERAGE on it...which was nice. After the accident, I was SURE they'd jack my rates up cuz they're cunt rags like that. They surprised me...they didn't raise the rate...instead, they cancelled me at first chance. Before I was cancelled this last time, I was paying ~195 a month just to be legal. What a fucking rip. I hate insurance...the VAST majority of the time, it's nothing more than the biggest waste of money in the world.
