Hey I'm looking into getting a 93 or up Z28 with a LT1 and was wondering how much it would cost to rebuild the engine without going overboard with expensive parts. Just stock to moderate performance parts is all that I would want to do. I would have a shop do it just because I don't like messing with all the computers and electronics. I've got a 72 Nova and the charging system is about as technical as I care to get. Oh and this would be a rebuild on a engine that is runing fine (not a cracked block or anything). Thanks for any help.

Thanks for any help.Well if u don't make the motor hot the block work $150-200 rod and main bearings $75-100,new cam bearings $50-80,oil pump $50-80,gasket set $50,new cam & lifters $150, pistons if needed $300, rings $35-50 for stock type, valve stem locks $30, valveseals $25,new springs if needed$40-130 depends on that type.SO you do the math it can range from $500 to $1200 in parts and thats not adding the labor from the shop.IT jest depends on what type of a build you want to do.
