Hey i have a 97 eclipse GS and I was looking to do an engine upgrade that would do something quick. I was thinking about puting a 6 cylinder engine from a newer eclipse in it that i found but i wasn't sure if it would fit. Does anyone know if it would? or is there any other engines that are more high performance that i could throw in there? I would just sell the car and upgrade but the car is in my moms name and she wont sign it over to me for some reason. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

I wouldnt do an engine swap. For how much it would cost to drop in a 3g V6, you could just buy your own car thats worth dumping lots of money into. Engine swaps can get messy real fast if you're doing it your self, and make a huge dent in your wallet. Unless you plan on laying down 5-6 grand for an engine swap or a couple grand to turbo it, basically all you can do is intake and exhaust. Without boost, you cant get a lot of horsepower. Again, if you have the cash to turbo/swap it, you should take that cash and buy a good decent 1g AWD and then mod that car.

No. No engine swaps for you. Sell it, get a gst/x and you will have saved money versus swappnig and engine. Which you can now spend on making the turbo car mas rapido

So let her keep her car, save up 2 grand and buy your own. Making a GS fast is like making water run up hill.
