Made it to the semis last night. Pretty good night. This engine has only been in the car 3 weeks and I've made it to 4 cars with it already. Not too bad I guess.
1st round eliminations, I dialed 4.80, cut a .514 light and ran 4.831. The other car broke out.
2nd round, I dialed 4.81, cut a .504 light and ran 4.807. That's a breakout foul, but the ohter car broke out .001 seconds worse then I did, lol. And I did get out of the gas on that run and still broke out.
3rd round I got the bye run due to my .504 light. The best reaction time from the previous round gets the bye run if there is one. Anyways, good thing I got it because when I was staged and bringing the rpms up on hte car it flooded and died. The carb. actually caught on fire, lol. Anyways, after I put it out (cranked the car back), i was dialed 4.79, cut a .509 light and ran 4.795.
4th round (semi round), I was dialed 4.78, cut a .570 light (I'll explain later) and ran 4.796.
Freak thing happened during that run. Both of us had done our burnouts, and both of us had staged, and was ready to go. Cars were on the two-steps and we were waiting for the tree to start coming down when track officials jumped in front of us and told us to shut down. Turns out a dog was on the track towards the finish line and so they had to go and take care of that. That really sucked too becuase it totally threw me off my game plan, but it was as fair for me as it was for him (He cut a .515 light).
What makes it worse was, in the final round, the same guy that beat me cut a .562 light, lol. Oh well! It was a pretty good evening for little Casper. I cut good lights all night except for that last round and the car ran its numbers.
Cliff Notes
-had another double-Oh and dead on run (.509 RT, 4.795 on 4.79 dial)
-semi finals (3rd place): Dial: 4.78, RT: .570, 60ft: 1.637, 330 ET: 4.796)

.504 reaction times? thats definately something to be proud of...whats your normal 60ft time cause I though 1.6 would be good enough to give you a chance to come back
and whens ur next tourney? Do you ever get to race in Canada?

Well, 1.60s are normal for this engine. Now the 406 that I blowed up would almost always go 1.50, and I had a best of 1.464 with several 1.48s and 1.49s.
And the only place I'll ever be racing is in KY and some in TN.
damn, bracket racing is tough.
Haha. It can be. I've lost by .001 seconds before, and won by .004 seconds before, lol.
