Thanks.

It wasn't too bad actually.
The only real snags are the brake lines that cross the K-Member, and this stupid ass clutch line.

So what's your next battle plan?

Mr. Luos

Ramps for the rear tires.
Hoist on the front strut tower brace as the motor stayed down.

Congrats Luos. Any giggle juice or forced induction in the future? I know how much the ls1's love the juice, I can only imagine what kind of shot your new engine can take.

I guess that is the easiest way.

6 ton jackstands hold it up nicely.
This is how the garage sits.....
Little bit of EVERYTHING....

Wow, very impressive. I too would not have thought of pulling the engine like that. Congrats man, can't wait to see your vids of the 402 in action once it's done.

so, are you in any of those pics above? or are you the one taking the pics?

btw, your garage is so small looks like you gotta go outside just to change your mind.

Mr. Luos

I took all the pics.
The garage is actually decently long, so that helps. There is plenty of room on the back side of the car.

Oh...and BTW....

I am sore. Muscles in my neck, stomach, and legs are aching.

Now I REALLY can't wait to get this 402 in though. Seeing my car like that is kinda weird.

Are you keeping the Ls1 injection system and putting it on the 402? Thats gonna be freakin awsome. Cant wait to see what kind of power its gonna put out. Your going to need a new rear end though arent you?

I am keeping the same basic injection. Upping the injectors to 42#. Upgraded fuel pump, fuel rails, and fuel regulator.
Rear end should hold. I have the dis-advantage of living in Colorado's thin air, so while the car should be close to dyno'ing 500 RWHP, it will only actually make around 420-430. Until I get it to sea level....then it is on.

Haha, sucks for you in thin air. Im glad I live on sea level. :)
So have you already changed out all the fuel stuff? I hated changing my fuel pump.

Mr. Luos
07-25-2005, 05:17 PM
Nope....haven't gotten to the fuel pump yet...

yeah i always took for granted having the lift to work with at the dealership, that my good sir is the easiest way to do it ;)

Man, there's crap everywhere in the background. I hate having to clean it up because you want to ENJOY THE FREAKING CAR. :)

Mr. Luos
07-25-2005, 08:14 PM
Well....car is the biggest part of the crap in the background.

There is room behind the car to do work....but I can't get anything back there.
This upcoming Sunday I will have the stock motor torn down completely, and hopefully ready for sale.
I will then start installing some parts onto the new block.

Still quite some time away from being able to start her up though.

eh, all in good time. A 402 is definately well worth the wait.
