95 s-10 Blazer Cruise Control Turned on by itself?

I was driving my truck and went from 30 to 75 mph by itself in a matter of seconds. I did not feel the gas pedal under my foot. It went down by itself. I tried to stop before I hit someone and the brakes just barely worked. I put it in park and it was still doing 75 and the rpm was in the red zone. felt like the cruise control was on, but it was not. it has done this several times. i took it to the shop and they could not find any problem, especially since there was no codes for the machine to pick up. I would like to disengage the cruise control to see if its that, but i have no handbook and the fuse box does not say which fuse is for cruise control. thanks for any input.

You put your truck in park while doing 75mph and your transmission didn't fall off on to the road?

sounds like a vacuum leak.

Check the brake booster hose.

Also, remove the air intake and clean the throttle body butterfly.

Of note:

Never lubricate the cables themselves. Only the throttle linkage and the cam/springs on the side of the intake need a *light* coating of lube. Oil contaminated cables collect dirt internally over time and end up sticking or binding them. If the cables themselves are responsible for rough operation of the throttle, replace them.
