Hi, I bought this car on ebay from tx. It has a rebuilt engine in it that wouldn't run after it was installed, it would flood out. I got the car and took it to a mechanic to find out what was happening, he said it was a mass air flow sensor. I got one from ebay and put it on and it still smokes and smells like gas. If I unhood the MAS it don't smoke as much and will idle. Is there a way to check this out or bypass it or make it run in a lean state so it don't smoke so I can get it to another mechanic? Is it possible to have 2 bad or wrong MAS in a row? Please help, thanks!

Well sure it's possible, not very likely. I'd look to the ECU as the problem, since that's where all the information from the MAS goes and is interpereted. Just a thought, don't take as your solution.

Anyone have a good MAS or Computer for sale? Or know where to find one?

Prior to just throwing money away on parts you may not need. I'd try and further diagnose the exact problem. Are you getting a check engine light? Also what year is yours?
